GlowStrm Learning Studio · Course Catalogue 2026–27

The Learning Studio.

Writing, message, and accessibility education — taught with rigor, priced to be reachable, built on the belief that your voice is not a problem to fix.

Four live courses and a team workshop, one studio. Every course is designed and led by Sharéa D. Harris, M.F.A. — and none of it is theory assembled for a market. All of it is practice, organized so you can enter it.

Come as you are.

The Learning Studio is the teaching practice of GlowStrm. Before GlowStrm, I spent more than a decade in classrooms and writing centers — leading the Writing Center at the U.S. Naval Academy, teaching college composition, training tutors, and sitting beside hundreds of writers at the exact moment they decided whether to trust their own voice.

Every course in this catalogue comes from that room. Two commitments hold across everything here. Rigor: these courses ask real work of you, because growth that costs nothing changes nothing. Respect: your language — the way you actually speak, the registers you carry — is an asset we build with, never a flaw we correct. Clarity is liberation. Simplicity is respect. You will find both in every room.

Browse. Ask questions. Choose the door that fits. I'd love to work with you.

College Writing Foundations
One program. Three doors in.
15 weeks · 1:1 · small cohort · multilingual 1:1

For adults returning to college, certificate, or graduate study — and families sponsoring a college-bound student. This is not remedial writing; it is foundational, on purpose: a 15-week arc that mirrors a first-year university composition course while staying flexible, human, and adaptive to adult lives. Every format ends with a portfolio that demonstrates growth and readiness.

Course 02 · For organizations
Clear & Accessible
Plain-language and accessibility training for communications teams.
Half-day · full-day · four-week series · up to 25 · on-site or virtual

Your team learns to write communications every reader can use: plain language that meets people where they are, and documents built to Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards. Most training in this space teaches the checklist; this course teaches the communication — practiced on your team's real documents, with an internal review checklist they keep. Compliance is the floor. Clarity is the offer.

From $3,600 per organization Full-day intensive $6,000 · four-week series $9,800 · mission rate for HBCUs & mission-aligned institutions from $2,900

Course 03 · For founders & creatives
Message Clarity for Founders
You built the thing. Now say the thing.
5 weeks · max 8 seats · weekly · 90 min

A five-week small-group studio built on GlowStrm's Message Architecture™ method — Excavate, Anchor, Orient — for founders who can build the thing but can't yet say the thing. You leave with a one-page message architecture in your own words: the anchor claim, its proof, and how it holds steady across your website, your pitch, and every room you walk into. Supervised work with live feedback, not content to watch.

$850 Founding cohort $600 (first run only) · graduates carry a $500 credit toward any Message Architecture™ Sprint within six months

Course 04 · For the community
Language Is Power
A six-week reading & writing circle on voice.
6 weeks · max 12 · weekly · 90 min · sliding scale

Six weeks of reading together, writing together, and unlearning the idea that your voice is a problem to fix. The canon is the one taught in university classrooms for a decade — Baldwin, Dowdy, Patricia Smith, McWhorter, the scholarship of African American Language. The circle ends with each participant writing and sharing a declaration of linguistic self-determination. This is the brand-defining offering of the Learning Studio — priced as a mission choice, run because it is the point.

$150 / $250 / $350 Self-selected sliding scale, no proof required · sponsored 12-seat circles for organizations $3,600 · PD framing letter available for educators

The Workshop · For teams
Where’s the Gap?
GlowStrm in the room.
Live · Facilitated · Scales with team size

A live, facilitated working session built on one question: where is the distance between what you actually mean and what people are hearing? Not a lecture, not a webinar — a working session that gets a whole team aligned on one message before they rewrite the website, brief a vendor, or walk into an important room. Built on the same five-dimension framework as the free self-audit.

From $3,500 Scaled to team size · begins with the self-audit

The rooms connect. Language Is Power builds the community; College Writing Foundations and the founder studio deepen the practice; the Where’s the Gap? Workshop aligns the team; Clear & Accessible brings whole organizations in. Wherever you enter, the next door is open.

How it all works

The fine print, in plain language.

Enrollment

Every course begins with an interest form and a short intake conversation. Organizational training begins with a scoping call about your team and your documents.

Payment plans

Every course offers installment plans at no interest and no fees. Organizational buyers may use purchase orders.

Sliding scale, plainly

Where a sliding scale exists, you self-select the rate that reflects your capacity. No documentation, no justification, ever.

Access needs

Tell us how you learn and what you need — pacing, feedback style, captioning, materials format. Accessibility is the subject of one of these courses; it is the practice of all of them.

Where courses happen

Live sessions run on Zoom. Course homes — materials, reflections, discussion — live in GlowStrm's own course environment. Everything works on a phone, because that's real life.

The pace of care

Cohorts are small on purpose and fill on a rolling basis. When a room is full, the waitlist gets first notice of the next one. We don't chase; we move at the pace of care.

One promise across everything: Clarity is liberation. Your voice is not a problem to fix. Every course in this catalogue clarifies so the rooms for you can find you — none of them will ever ask you to flatten who you are to belong.

For organizations & Virginia public buyers

Bringing your whole team?

Clear & Accessible is the Studio's organizational door — and the successor to GlowStrm's facilitated team workshops. Government and agency communications shops, university web and marketing teams, health-system and nonprofit communicators: the four-week series is deliberately priced under the $10,000 small-purchase threshold for Virginia public bodies.

GlowStrm is a Virginia small business registered in eVA; SWaM certification in process. Led by a communicator who built a Section 508 accessibility library alongside certified 508 specialists.
