Your team learns to write communications every reader can use: plain language that meets people where they are, and documents built to Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards. Most training in this space teaches the checklist. This course teaches the communication — why plain language and accessibility are the same discipline, and how a team makes both habitual.

Why now: the Department of Justice’s ADA Title II web rule sets hard compliance deadlines for public entities in April 2027 and April 2028 — extended, in DOJ’s own words, because automated tools “cannot reliably remediate” without trained people. The widget won’t save you. Your writers will.

Compliance is the floor. Clarity is the offer.

Four sessions, one habit.

Wk 1Plain Language Is RespectFederal plain-language principles; reading level without condescension; before/after rewrites of your own documents.
Wk 2The Accessible DocumentHeadings as architecture; alt text that means something; tables, lists, links, color; accessible Word & PDF workflows.
Wk 3Accessible Digital CommunicationEmail structure; decks a screen reader can follow; captioning basics; social-media accessibility habits.
Wk 4The Practice LabYour team’s real documents, remediated live; the internal review checklist; where to go deeper.

What your team leaves with: the habits, a lightweight internal review checklist they keep, remediated versions of their own real documents from the practice lab — and a clear map of where to go deeper.

The investment.

For Virginia public buyers: GlowStrm is a Virginia small business registered in eVA (SWaM certification in process). The four-week series is deliberately priced under the $10,000 small-purchase threshold. Purchase orders welcome. Led by a communicator who built a Section 508 accessibility library alongside certified 508 specialists.

Bring your team.

Organizational training begins with a scoping call about your team and your documents — what you publish, who reads it, and where it’s breaking down.

This starts a conversation, not a charge. Every enrollment begins with a short intake exchange; sliding-scale tiers are self-selected — no proof, no justification, ever. We won’t send you spam.
